Success Stories

Seminole ISD is known for outstanding vision, leadership, and work ethic. Did Seminole Independent School District influence you and put you on the road to success?  The district has produced many successful individuals, from chemical, petroleum and mechanical engineers to doctors, lawyers, accountants and educators. Other students have entered the work force after high school and are very successful in business, agriculture and blue collar workers. The list does not end here! We are proud of all our students!

Dr. Tyra Decker Manning

Dr. Tyra Decker Manning is a 1965 graduate of Seminole I.S.D. She is the daughter of Dorothy Decker Foote, who was a longtime teacher and librarian at Seminole schools. Tyra overcame a great deal to become the successful educator, mother, and author that she is today.

Josh Halverson

Josh Halverson is a 2003 graduate of Seminole I.S.D. He is a songwriter and musician. Josh made it to the live shows on The Voice.  Check him out and vote!

Dr. Chris Lemons

President Obama names Vanderbilt’s Chris Lemon among extraordinary early-career scientists. Chrisis a 1992 Seminole High School graduate. He earned his Bachelor and Master degrees from The University of Texas and his Ph.D from Vanderbilt University.
