Boys Athletic Director
Kent Jackson is a 1982 graduate of Seminole High School and Lubbock Christian University. Coach Jackson returned to serve as the Boys Athletic Director and Head Football Coach in 2014. He is married to Elizabeth, and they have two sons, Trenton (wife, Danae), and Randall (wife, Addison).
Relationships built throughout 33 years of coaching and teaching.
Grand-parenting starting January 2019!
Did you know...Coach Jackson goes to as many Journey concerts each year (as many as he can fit in). AND he loves Disneyland as much as he loves Journey.
Girls Athletic Director
Leland Bearden is from Ackerly, Texas, graduating from Sands High School and Texas Tech University. He started coaching at Seminole ISD in 2013 as the Head Girls Basketball Coach. He is married to Staci and they have two children, Bethani and Brennan.
State Tournament Appearances in Basketball: 2010, 2011, and 2013.
State Champion in Girls Basketball: 2010 and 2011.
Did you know...Coach Bearden met his wife at a basketball game in Smyer, Texas.
Gwen Coon graduated from Seminole High School before attending South Plains College and New Mexico Jr. College. She began working for Seminole ISD in 1998. She is married to Rickey Coon and they have two grown children, Ryan and Kayla.
Fun Fact: Gwen is a certified educational office professional.
Seminole I.S.D. uses a district calendar to create the schedules. If you come across a schedule that does not include events or is missing an event you know is scheduled contact the Athletic Department. The advantage of keeping your schedule using the district calendar is when there are changes made to an event (such as site, cancellation, time, etc.), it becomes accessible to all in a timely manner.
