The Seminole ISD Board of Trustees has named Dr. Glen Teal as the lone finalist to be its next Superintendent. Dr. Teal has most recently served as Superintendent of Jim Ned CISD.
In accordance with state law, the board must wait 21 days before officially voting to hire Dr. Teal as the new superintendent. He is set to succeed Kyle Lynch, who has served as Seminole ISD’s Superintendent for the past six years.
“The District has a long tradition of choosing strong experienced leaders to lead our team,” Board President Shane Wimmer said. “On behalf of the Seminole School Board, we are excited to partner with Dr. Teal to carry on that tradition, and we are confident that he is the right person to lead us into the future.”
The selection process was extensive. In December, the Board engaged Impact Education Services to lead the Superintendent search. Impact collaborated with parents, community members, and SISD staff to develop a leadership profile, which guided the Board and consultants in evaluating candidates.
After conducting two rounds of interviews, the Board identified Dr. Teal as the top candidate. The SISD Trustees are scheduled to vote on April 14 to finalize his appointment.
