Volleyball Playoff History

DID YOU KNOW?

• VOLLEYBALL was a spring sport until 1975.
• Coach Judy Bugher was an outstanding basketball player for the Wayland Flying Queens.After she left Seminole she was the head basketball coach for Oklahoma State University.
• Coach Kathleen Brasfield coached the Angelo State Lady Rams volleyball team and also became the athletic director for ASU. Coach Kathleen Brasfield was inducted into the Angelo State University "Hall of Fame".
• Coach Lynda Jackson received her 400th win vs. Greenwood during the 1995-96 season.
• Coach Jackie Horton played high school volleyball for the Seminole Maidens. She earned All-State and All-Star honors. She also lead her team to the State Tournament. Jackie earned a scholarship and played for ASU.
• Valerie Jackson, a retired Jr. High counselor, was a standout volleyball player for the Maidens. She lead her team to two State Championships, and was named a three time All-State player and was an All-Star player her senior year. She earned a scholarship to play for Texas Tech University.
• Seminole Maidens made it to the UIL State Tournament(opens external link in new window) 7 times (type Seminole in search box for results). They won in 1970 under Judy Bugher and 1976 and 1977 under Coach Kathleen Brasfield.
